Strategic Plan
Strategic Planning Committee
In spring 2024, Villa’s Board of Trustees unanimously agreed to form a committee to embark upon a strategic planning process in anticipation of Villa’s centennial in 2032. That work is now underway with completion anticipated by May 2025.
What is strategic planning?
Strategic planning is an organization’s process of defining its strategy or direction and making decisions on allocating its resources to attain strategic goals.
The process of strategic planning invites the organization’s stakeholders to consider three primary questions.
What do we do? How do we do it? Why do we do it?
The “we” of strategic planning are as many voices as possible: faculty, staff, trustees, alumnae, parents, students, donors, neighbors, and the broader community.
Areas of Focus
Between September and December, five work groups will meet to explore key areas of focus by considering these questions, which will be answered with our faith and mission at the forefront:
-
How will our curriculum and college prep empower students of the future? (Academics)
-
How does Villa best serve our community – internally and externally?
-
How will opportunities beyond the classroom – artistically, athletically, experientially – enhance student preparation?
-
How will Villa’s financial model help us thrive for the next hundred years? (Financial Sustainability)
-
Why Villa? (Identity/Branding)
If you are interested in participating in a work group this fall, or if you just have an idea you would like the groups to consider, please contact Jeanne Frawley or any member of the Strategic Planning Committee listed below.
Why does Villa need a strategic plan?
Plans translate values into action.
Villa’s Strategic Planning process is firmly rooted in the Board of Trustees’ commitment to its existing mission & vision statements. The strategic planning process and resultant plan will strengthen the capacity to achieve Villa’s mission in future years while continuing to pursue its vision of more, done better, with love as inspired by Mother Maria.
Mission Statement
Villa Joseph Marie, a Catholic college-preparatory high school, empowers young women through faith, education, and service, in the tradition of the Sisters of St. Casimir.
Vision Statement
Villa creates an academically challenging environment within a nurturing community, helping young women discern who they are and who God calls them to be. Inspired by the words of Mother Maria Kaupas, we work in the spirit of “Always more, always better, always with love.”
