College Counseling

Through Villa Joseph Marie's College Counseling services, students have unlimited access to information and resources related to college and vocational schools, college entrance examinations, college admissions requirements, and scholarships and financial aid. Our staff assists students through every aspect of their college application process and makes every effort to ensure that each student finds a post-secondary educational destination that suits her personally and academically.

Note: College Admission Counselors can now go to to schedule an appointment with our high school.

College Visitation

Villa hosts representatives from numerous colleges and universities who visit our campus to meet with potential applicants. Students are strongly encouraged to sign up and take advantage of these sessions.

Students should check the college visitation bulletin board and their Naviance accounts frequently to identify the sessions they wish to attend. Students will print their confirmation from Naviance, which will serve as the pass they should present to their teacher. Actual attendance eligibility will be determined by the teacher of the class period impacted. If the student is unable to attend the requested session, Guidance personnel will obtain additional materials from the college/university representative for the student.

College Planning Night

Villa Joseph Marie hosts a parents-only College Planning Night each year, during which the Guidance Office provides each family with a personal College Planning Book; presents timetables, deadlines, and application procedures; and discusses the overall application process. There also is ample time allowed for questions and informal group discussion.

This year's College Planning Night will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.  Parents/guardians of all grades are welcome to attend. Discussion topics include the college application process, Naviance, college essays, letters of recommendation, and the Common Application. The Guidance Office is pleased to host a panel of admissions counselors who answer admissions questions as well as discuss the specific process pertaining to their university.

The Guidance Office looks forward to working closely with all of our students and their families as together we prepare for an integrated, successful college admission process and seamless transition from high school to higher education.
