Villa is Growing

What's New on Campus?

Continued renovation and expansion of our facilities to provide an enhanced educational environment is no small part of that commitment. During the 2023-2024 school year and into the summer, we completed several key projects, both large and small, that will greatly impact our campus and young women.

If you own a business and wish to partner with Villa on campus enhancements, please contact Matt Grunwell, Director of Advancement. Future projects include driveway and parking lot paving, pouring concrete for outdoor classrooms, and technology upgrades in our Performing Arts Center.

It is only through the generosity of our donors and partners that these opportunities have been, and will continue to be, made available to impact the lives of the young women of Villa.

Chemistry Lab
Thanks to the generosity of Capital Campaign donors, our students will now benefit from a fully remodeled chemistry lab. Completed in conjunction with our partners at Twining Construction (McIntyre family) during the summer of 2024, we revitalized a space that is more than 50 years old.

Chemistry Lab
The redesigned lab will inspire future female scientists by providing a modern environment for exploration and learning.

Main Hallway Bathroom
Spearheaded by the Leadership Class, our student body raised money this year to fund a refresh (or “glow up” as our Jems like to call it!) of the main hall bathroom. Fresh paint, new ceiling tiles, front and backlit LED mirrors, and stylish modern sinks brought the bathroom back from the 1950s.

Main Hallway Bathroom
Special thanks to the Parents’ Guild for providing a matching gift to bring the project to fruition.

Maria Hall
Historic Maria Hall, built in 1860 and the site of events ranging from Cocktails with the President, prom photos, and class reunions, to numerous bridal and baby shower rentals, has been refreshed as well. The first two floors were fully repainted this summer after receiving a fresh coat of paint on the exterior last summer.
Lighting
Villa is shining even brighter thanks to our recent lighting upgrade.
Lighting
Partnering with Tri-County Electrical Supply Inc. (Bisler family), we’ve gone greener, replacing 3,000 light bulbs and saving an estimated $20,000+ annually while reducing our carbon footprint. The team also navigated the PECO rebate process on our behalf, resulting in zero cost to Villa for materials and labor.
Campus Banners
We are excited to share that our latest project has further enhanced the curb appeal of our campus.

Campus Banners
Thanks to the generosity of the Parents’ Guild, Villa now proudly displays blue light post banners along the driveways and parking lots, alternating between our school logo and motto.

Mother Maria Performing Arts Center (PAC)
Villa’s 600-seat, state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center opened in 2019.
Mother Maria Performing Arts Center (PAC)
This expansion included...
  • Epson laser LCD projector and screen with 4k enhancement for large venue productions
  • A sacred space, blessed by the bishop, sacristy included
  • Theatrical rigging system (fly) for ease in movement of scenery, props, lighting, stage effects, and people
  • Acoustic paneling to allow for evenly distributed sound travel throughout the space

We're excited about these major improvements to our facilities! If you have questions, please contact Matt Grunwell, Director of Advancement, at mgrunwell@vjmhs.org.
