Thank you to all who donated to our Thanksgiving food drive! Student Council collected over 1,600 non perishable items for Caring for Friends. |

| On November 23, we reflected as a community about all we have to be grateful for: family, friends, education, and of course each other. Our Annual Feast included a traditional Thanksgiving meal, delicious desserts, a turkey-gobble impression contest, and the scavenger hunt followed by an epic MVP scooter race. We were reminded how important it is to pause, laugh, and be present with one another. We left for the Thanksgiving break with full stomachs but even fuller hearts. Above: Fun at the Feast! | To the cast and crew of The Addams Family, you did an amazing job with this production! And, thank you to all those that attended the show in support of our students and drama department. The Addams Family was Villa's highest-selling show to date, with over 1300 tickets sold. |

| Congratulations to Juliana Marino '22 on receiving her Gold Award, the highest award a Girl Scout can receive. Juliana organized, instructed a team, created, and displayed interchangeable "RELIC" wreaths to be hung on the 9 doors in the Hospice Pavilion at Chandler Hall in Newtown, PA. Juliana has also earned the Trifecta Award, signifying that she has earned all three of the Girl Scouts' highest awards – the Bronze Award, Silver Award, and Gold Award. A third and final congratulations goes to Juliana for receiving a certificate for outstanding achievement in Holy Ghost Prep's VEX Robotics 2021 Summer Course. She was the first and only female to attend an academic course at HGP since it's inception in 1897. |

| Villa's Music Department visited Holland Village yesterday to perform selections from their Christmas Concert! Joyful sounds of Feliz Navidad, I'll Be Home for Christmas and many others brought smiles to the faces of the residents. A big thank you to the senior students for all of the time and effort they have put into making these ensembles what they are today! |
|

On November 19, Mr. McGrath's Latin students marched with their own handmade shields. They formed a "Testudo" to protect the whole legion from an attack and then drove the "barbarians" off the field with a gallant charge. This demonstrated the Roman tradition of working as one to the benefit of all. |

| The Aerospace Engineering class learned how to fly using a flight simulator. In this particular activity, they had to use all the instruments in the plane to guide themselves from Colorado Springs to Denver International using the VOR system and successfully land on the correct runway using a proper heading. |

Villa Rowing wrapped up the Fall 2021 season at the Frostbite and Braxton Regattas. At the Frostbite Regatta, Villa competed in 3 races and won all three — Freshman 4, JV 4 A boat, and JV 4 B boat. The day was cut short due to weather and the 8s did not get a chance to race. At the Braxton Regatta, the weather was much better and the team was able to race all entries. The Varsity 8 just missed going to the A final and ended up 4th in the B final. The JV 8 finished a close 3rd in their race. The JV 4s A nd B were both 3rd in their races, as well. The Freshman 8 was a very close 3rd and the Freshman 4 went 3rd in their race also. Villa Rowing took a break for a few weeks and has now begun their winter training season. A big thanks to all of our athletes, parents, coaches, sponsors, and administrators who make this all possible. The team is looking forward to the Spring season and competing for national titles again this year. She was notified that she received a 5 in the Spring, but after additional review, College Board shared with us recently that Katherine was one of only 219 students in the world to earn every point possible, receiving the maximum score on each portion of the exam. |

Thank you to everyone — family, friends, Villa Alumnae, donors, basketball players, and spectators — that played a part in making the Kate Abel Memorial Tournament & Social so successful on Thanksgiving weekend. Our Alumnae (shown above left) proved that they've still got what it takes to shine on the court, and our tournament athletes started off their basketball seasons with strong skills that made for an exciting full day of games. The Abel family (shown above right) and Villa Joseph Marie thank you tremendously for supporting us in remembering Kate with such an amazing event. The money raised will cover two Villa scholarships to be awarded this year in Kate's name. Additional donations can be made at www.vjmhs.org/abel and photos from the event can be viewed and purchased at vjmhs.smugmug.com/abel, with proceeds also going to the scholarship fund. |

| Congratulations, Katie Sullivan '21, who was named a First Team All-American by United Soccer Coaches. And, as if this accomplishment wasn't already amazing... she was the only freshmen selected overall — WOW! Read the official announcement by clicking here. |
