Freshman Rowing Coach

Villa Joseph Marie High School (Holland, PA) is seeking a Freshman Rowing Coach for the 2019-2020 season. VJM is a private Catholic college-preparatory high school for young women in Bucks County, PA. Our competitive rowing program fields Scholastic sweep boats, and our boats have qualified for the SRAA nationals for the last 2 years, despite the fact that our rowing program only just began in the Spring of 2017. VJM Rowing spans 3 seasons: fall, winter training, and spring. Fall racing consists of 4-5 regattas; spring racing consists of 10 regattas. After school practices are in the afternoon at Lake Luxembourg in Langhorne, PA, and weekend practices are in the morning.

Candidates should have competitive rowing experience. Prior coaching experience is a plus. The successful candidate will be subject to background checks and training, as mandated by VJM and the State of Pennsylvania. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include teaching freshmen to row, organizing and running practices on and off the water, and supporting the Varsity team as needed. Freshmen are the lifeblood of any program, so the freshman coach needs to be positive and motivating in order to create a competitive, fun, sustainable atmosphere.

Resumes should be sent to Head Rowing Coach John Musial at
