Mother Maria Kaupas Scholarship
The Mother Maria Kaupas Scholarship was established in 2015 by the Villa Joseph Marie Class of 1960, in celebration of the class's 55th reunion, to honor our school’s Foundress and to reward students who emulate her virtues. This financial aid scholarship provides four one-time $1,000 tuition awards to four Villa students—one rising Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior—who are passionate advocates and activists for positive change in the areas of social justice, environment, science, medicine, engineering, arts, literature, or culture.
Recipients of this scholarship should be able to demonstrate and document their commitment to their causes. An applicant for this scholarship should submit EITHER an essay (up to 1,000 words) OR a video (up to 3 minutes), that captures her vision, awareness, and activism for her cause. While the applicant should feel free to express her creativity in her submission, the primary purpose is to demonstrate that she has committed substantial time, energy, and resources to further her cause. The scholarship will be applied to the winning students' tuition at Villa for the following year.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- All students will be notified when the application process opens in mid-March
- Application deadline will generally be about three weeks later, and the specific date will be included in the March communication
