TUITION
Villa Joseph Marie's tuition is all-inclusive. There are no additional fees or costs for books, labs, or other classroom expenses.

SCHOLARSHIPS
The following scholarships are available to qualified applicants:

Academic Scholarships
Academic Scholarships are awarded each year to deserving students based on the results of the Entrance/Scholarship Examination.

Alumnae Scholarships
One-year Alumnae Scholarships are awarded to deserving students who are the daughters or granddaughters of an Alumna of Villa Joseph Marie, based on Entrance/Scholarship Examination score, school records, recommendation, and interview.

Art Scholarships
Art Scholarships are awarded to deserving students based on curriculum vitae, letter of recommendation, and an 8- to 10-piece portfolio. Candidates must have completed the application process to Villa Joseph Marie to be considered. Deadline for submissions is Monday, November 2, 2020. Click here for more information. 

Instrumental Music Scholarships
Instrumental Music Scholarships are awarded to deserving students based on curriculum vitae, letter of recommendation, and an audition. Candidates must have completed the application process to Villa Joseph Marie to be considered. Previously, we advertised that our auditions would be in-person, but, due to a scheduling conflict, we have decided to move our auditions to a virtual format. Click here for the Scholarship Applicant Form. Instrumental music scholarship students should record themselves completing the following:

  • Two at the comfort level of the student:
    • melodical
    • technical
  • Know Scales up to 3# and 3 b
    C, F, Bb, Eb
    G, D, A  plus Chromatic
    All scales are to be played with as many octaves as possible.
  • Percussion only: 
    Snare are to use this attached rudiment in place of scales.
    Drum set: Play Rock Beat with Fills/Jazz Beats with Fills.
    Mallet Percussion will use the same scales.

We ask that the recording be a video so that we can see her while she is playing her instrument. Please email the recording to sgahagan@vjmhs.org or upload the recording to a flash drive and either mail it to Mrs. Gahagan's attention or drop it off at our Main Office. Auditions must be submitted by Monday, November 2, 2020. If you have any questions, please address them to Sonny Facenda, our Band Director, at sfacenda@vjmhs.org.

Vocal Music Scholarships
Vocal Music Scholarships are awarded to deserving students based on curriculum vitae, letter of recommendation, and audition. Candidates must have completed the application process to Villa Joseph Marie to be considered. Previously, we advertised that our auditions would be in-person, but, due to a scheduling conflict, we have decided to move our auditions to a virtual format. Click here for the Scholarship Applicant Form. Vocal scholarship students should record themselves completing the following:
  • a one octave scale, ascending and descending (Student may sing using solfege or a neutral syllable.)
  • a prepared song demonstrating the student's vocal ability (Student may perform with a recording, perform a cappella, or perform while playing an instrument.)

We ask that the recording be a video so that we can see her while she is singing. Please email the recording to sgahagan@vjmhs.org or upload the recording to a flash drive and either mail it to Mrs. Gahagan's attention or drop it off at our Main Office. Auditions must be submitted by Monday, November 2, 2020. If you have any questions, please address them to Alissa Nelson, our Vocal Instructor, at anelson@vjmhs.org.

Accompanist Scholarships
Accompanist Scholarships will be awarded to accomplished pianists who will serve as accompanists to our Music Director during school Masses and assemblies. This award will be based on curriculum vitae, letter of recommendation, and audition. Candidates must have completed the application process to Villa Joseph Marie to be considered. Auditions must be submitted by Monday, November 2, 2020. Click here for the Scholarship Applicant Form. Accompanist scholarship students should record their audition with the same guidelines listed above for Instrumental Music Scholarships.

First Responders and Military Scholarships
Villa is proud to introduce this new scholarship as a personal way to thank those that protect our community. Every incoming student (beginning with those that apply to Villa during the 2019-2020 school year) whose parent is currently a police officer, firefighter, medic or active military member is eligible to receive this $1,000 scholarship.

There is a limited amount of need-based financial aid available. Please fill out an application.

529 Plan Provision
A 529 plan is a tax-advantaged savings plan designed to encourage saving for future college costs. On December 22, 2017, new tax legislation was signed that includes a provision permitting 529 plan account owners to use assets to pay for qualified K-12 tuition expenses up to $10,000 per year, per student. Account owners can treat qualified K-12 withdrawals as qualified expenses with respect to the federal and Pennsylvania state tax benefits. For additional guidance on this new provision, please consult a qualified tax adviser about your personal situation.
