Find out what our current students are reading over the summer.

2019-2020 Freshman English

ACADEMIC ENGLISH I

These books will be read next year. It is not necessary to read all of them over the summer, but it is recommended that all Accelerated English I students purchase the books before the start of the school year.

  • MYTHOLOGY - Edith Hamilton
  • A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM - William Shakespeare
  • A RAISIN IN THE SUN - Lorraine Hansberry

The following book must be read over the summer. Students should expect a quiz on this book the first day of class.

  • OF MICE AND MEN - John Steinbeck
