The Basics

A Rich School History

  • Founded in 1932 by the Sisters of Saint Casimir
  • Originally a boarding school
  • Campus was once a working farm and orchard

Superior Academics

  • 100% of students accepted to four-year colleges
  • The Class of 2012 (87 students) earned $14.8 million in merit-based academic scholarships
  • 15 AP courses, 22 Honors courses
  • In 2012, Villa had 1 National Merit Scholarship Finalist, 2 National Merit Scholarship Commended Students and 15 AP Scholars
  • Science Highlights: In 2012, 35 Villa students participated in the Bucks County Science Fair, receiving 14 category awards and one special award. Villa students received 13 awards, including a Bronze Medal for Grade 10, at the Delaware Valley Science Fair in 2012. One Villa student competed in the 2012 International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh, Pa., receiving three major awards, including Best of Category in the Field of Animal Science.
  • Mathematics Highlights:  Required calculators are the Texas Instruments (TI) Nspire CX and the CX CAS. In 2012, Villa students scored an 86% on average (17 points higher than the national average) in the National Financial Capability Challenge, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Out of the 30 Villa students who participated, 13 scored in the top 20% nationwide, and one student scored in the top 10% nationwide. 

Extensive Fine Arts Program

  • Visual Arts Program, offering elective courses from freshman to senior years, including AP Studio Art. Currently, 25% of the student population is enrolled in an elective art course.
  • Classroom studio equipped to support every media of study, including drawing, painting, sculpture, computer graphics, and design
  • Annual Fine Arts Week, featuring a Coffee House Celebration, which includes an Art Show of Villa’s student artwork, as well as vocal and instrumental performances, and an Invitational Art Show open to local grade schools
  • Two plays per year (Musical in the fall, Drama in the Spring)
  • Singing groups include: Chorus and Freshman Choir Classes, Liturgical Singers, and Women's Chorale
  • Bands include: Jazz Band, Concert Band, Pep Band, Orchestra
  • The Villa Band has played at Philadelphia 76ers games, the Kimmel Center, Northampton Days, and more

Individualized Guidance/College Planning Process

  • Students receive individualized attention from Guidance Counselors and the College Planning Coordinator
  • Individualized course selection program: by student, by course, and by year
  • The college process begins in Junior year with one-on-one planning discussions
  • Counselors help students strategize for tests, develop essays, and plan for college tests

Building Spirituality Through Campus Ministry

  • Monthly liturgies and weekly morning prayer services
  • Full-day retreat program for faculty and students (Seniors take part in an overnight retreat program at the Malvern Retreat Center.)
  • Integrated Service Learning Curriculum (Required community service: 5 hours per year for Freshmen, 10 hours per year for all other grades)
  • Full-time Campus Minister

Extracurricular Activities...Something for Everyone

  • Athletics program includes: Soccer, Cross Country, Track, Softball, Volleyball, Field Hockey, Basketball, Golf, Cheerleading, Lacrosse, and Tennis
  • More than 30 clubs to suit all interests (service, academic, creative arts, etc.)
