Curriculum and Grading
Each course at Villa Joseph Marie High School is designated to one of the following categories:
College Preparatory Courses
These courses are basic to any student wishing to be accepted into a four-year college/university program. Freshmen and sophomores are assigned to these college preparatory classes.
These courses are accelerated classes and provide more in-depth study. More independent work is required for students in these classes. Admission is by administration, departmental and guidance recommendation, and by dialogue with students and parents.
Advanced Placement Courses
Advanced Placement courses, offered to juniors and seniors, replicate the scope and depth of college courses. Students enrolled in AP courses must take the AP exam at the conclusion of the course.
Villa Joseph Marie participates in the Bucks County Community College accelerated program offering college credit courses taught on the VJM campus. These courses provide college credits which may be transferred for credit to the college in which the student enrolls upon graduation from VJM.
